...chalk...

It's the start of a memorable new year at Harrison High. The self-conscious Mr. Stroope is convinced that his time has come - this year he will be furnished with the golden title of "Teacher of the Year," if only his smarter students would stop using words that he can't understand.Peek into Mr. Lowrey's History class and we will know that he's struggling to even call himself a teacher. Woefully, due to a complete lack of experience and social skills, he earnestly stutters his way through class. The only interaction his students offer him is when they steal his chalk. Men aren't much interested in the spunky and officious Coach Webb, but "not all P.E. teachers are gay" and she pines for some romantic company. Her once best friend, the newly appointed assistant principal, Mrs. Reddell, doesn't seem to have time for her either..this story is moving from the point of view of the educators! it told us story of life in the trenches of that most honorable and frustrating profession...teaching..

from this movie, we can see that being a teacher is not an easy job to do. and all the teachers, are different in their own ways. :)

...submitting!...

we have to submit all of our entries og the blog and 10 comments for friend's blogs on monday?? oh my god! i'm dead! that's the first thing comes intp my mind when Miss Emelia announced it in class last Thursday. my entries is not enough! she said, we have to submit 15 entries and i just have 6! oh my god, again! with this level of health, i do not think i can write the rest of the entries! but, no matter what, i will push myself to do it! chaiyok syuhada! push yourself to the limit!

*pushing myself to the limit and the consequences that i have to pay is, my fever and flu and cough are still loyal with me up until now..:( *

...persuade!...

in an hour with Mr. Vahid, we were listening to his speech on how to persuade people to agree with our points in doing position paper. the speech is very useful for us as it can be used in writing our position paper and hopefully, using the tips that he had given us, we can successfully persuaded people to agree with our standing of our position paper. thank you Mr. Vahid! :)

..research!..

i am having a very difficult time doing my research paper! at first, i'm thinking of doing analysis of main characters in stephenie meyer's 'the host'. but when i showed that draft to my supervisor, she said, i have to be more specific on i want to do. so, i have to think again. the second time, i went to see her again with new topic. but again, she said, i have to be specific..uh! i don't know anymore on how to do it & what to do.

i have to meet my supervisor again! i have no topic yet and this is the third time i have to meet her. bu hook or by crook, i want my draft to be approve! or else, i'll be dead! so, on the weekend, i struggle so hard to do my draft.i lastly came out with my draft on the different types of mother's love in 3 different short stories. well, the topic might be usual but i have no more idea! just be ready to be rejected again..huhuhu..

so..last wednesday, i went to see my supervisor. God knows how scared i am that time. with Bismillah, i entered her room. the room felt so cold and it made me more nervous. then, she started to speak. she said my draft is okay but i have to add some more points. she approved my draft! i am so happy! feeling like flying at that time..ahahaha..

so now, i have to work hard, adding my points and show it to her again..and then, i'm done! ahaha..go syuhada go!

..writing & arguing & supporting...

we have to write a position paper & a research paper on any literature works! uh! i am not so good in literature, and that is why i am so afraid thinking of these! i don't think i am able to write up until 1000 or 3000 words about it. but, whatever happen, i still have to do it.. so, better luck syuhada!

An arrogant and unorthodox teacher, Joe Clark returns as principal to the idyllic high school from which he had earlier been fired to find it a den of drug abuse, gang violence, and urban despair. Eventually his successful but unorthodox methods lead to a clash with city officials that threatens to undo all his efforts. Clark does not put up with teachers who disagree with him either, especially those who do so in front of the students. One of his rash firings is reversed by the superintendent.

i think that Clark's method is a bit harsh but i believe he has his own reasons on doing that. and at the end, all the students can accept and respect him. :)

...choose your own choice...

A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.
-John Steinbeck -

so..its YOU YOURSELF to decide on your own marriage! arranged or love marriage..ask yourself which one do you want. if you are comfortable with the fact that what older people choose for you is the best, so..arranged marriage is the best choice for you.. but if you already have someone in your heart..love marriage is the best for you!

as for me..i want A LOVE MARRIAGE THAT WILL BE ARRANGED by my family..understand what is it? hahaha...well..to put it in easy way..i want to marry my love one..'my future boyfriend' *cause i don't have one now..hehehe*...that will be arranged by my family & his family. means that, both of our families bless our marriage.. *actually..it's like a love marriage, right? huhuhu*

...mona lisa smile...

in 1953, Katherine Ann Watson, a teacher who studied at UCLA, is teaching in Massachussets at Wellesley College, a conservative women's private liberal art college. she encourages her students to study in order to be professionals in their career as she feels that women can do more than just be a wife and mother to someone. to suggest that her students do not have to conform to female stereotyping, she used modern art.

lives of various students of Watson's,
1. chief among them- Elizabeth "Betty" Warren, a rich girl with a conservative, domineering mother who marries Spencer Jones, a lawyer who is unfaithful to her, and who also clashes repeatedly with Watson.

2. Giselle Levy- one of the few Jewish students at Wellesley at the time, who has an affair with Bill Dunbar (Italian teacher), but who is also one of the first students to admire Watson.

3. Constance "Connie" Baker who has insecurities about her body while searching for a boyfriend.

4. Joan Brandwyn who is initially conflicted about whether to pursue law school after graduation or become a housewife to Spencer's best friend, sweet-natured Tommy Donegal

Although many are initially put off by Watson's style, but, later on, more students begin to admire her, including Betty, despite being her most vehement critic. Watson chooses to leave after one year and as she is leaving the campus, her students follow her car, to show their affection.

Watson is a type of teacher who is not easy to give up and has her own beliefs. even though she faced so mane obstacles, however, the determination of being a good teacher lastly ends with a good relationship between her and her students. so, friends, lets be a teacher like this! :)

...akeelah the genius...

just 11-years old but she is so genius when it comes to words! however, lived in a depression live where she lost her father and her mom ignores her and her brother runs with local gangsters! trying her luck in a spelling bee competitions as a chance of avoiding detention of her many absence & wins it! When Akeelah asks Dr. Larabee to coach her, he rejects her for being rude. Instead, she studies on her own for the district spelling bee. During the bee, her sister Kiana catches one of the other contestants cheating, which allows Akeelah to take the tenth and final qualifying spot for the regional/state bee. a 12-year-old Mexican-American boy and fellow speller who has a crush on her, Javier, invites her to join the spelling club at his Woodland Hills middle school. there, she meets Dylan Chiu. Akeelah almost defeats Dylan, but loses by just two points in scrabble game. She later overhears Dylan's father, reprimanding him for nearly losing to "a little black girl" and insisting he must win first place. trying so hard, both of them at last, shared the first place in the competition.

for me, akeelah is so lucky as she is able to join lots of competition of spelling bee. i love spelling bee but i never have courage to enter any competition as i always think that there are more people who can beat me and if they do so, i will feel ashamed!! uh! what a coward person i am! watching this movie made me realize on how stupid i am for letting go of the opportunity of joining this kind of competition. :( i hopre there will still be a chance for me to join any spelling bee competition in the future! amin! :)
