An arrogant and unorthodox teacher, Joe Clark returns as principal to the idyllic high school from which he had earlier been fired to find it a den of drug abuse, gang violence, and urban despair. Eventually his successful but unorthodox methods lead to a clash with city officials that threatens to undo all his efforts. Clark does not put up with teachers who disagree with him either, especially those who do so in front of the students. One of his rash firings is reversed by the superintendent.

i think that Clark's method is a bit harsh but i believe he has his own reasons on doing that. and at the end, all the students can accept and respect him. :)

...choose your own choice...

A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.
-John Steinbeck -

so..its YOU YOURSELF to decide on your own marriage! arranged or love marriage..ask yourself which one do you want. if you are comfortable with the fact that what older people choose for you is the best, so..arranged marriage is the best choice for you.. but if you already have someone in your heart..love marriage is the best for you!

as for me..i want A LOVE MARRIAGE THAT WILL BE ARRANGED by my family..understand what is it? hahaha...well..to put it in easy way..i want to marry my love one..'my future boyfriend' *cause i don't have one now..hehehe*...that will be arranged by my family & his family. means that, both of our families bless our marriage.. *actually..it's like a love marriage, right? huhuhu*

in 1953, Katherine Ann Watson, a teacher who studied at UCLA, is teaching in Massachussets at Wellesley College, a conservative women's private liberal art college. she encourages her students to study in order to be professionals in their career as she feels that women can do more than just be a wife and mother to someone. to suggest that her students do not have to conform to female stereotyping, she used modern art.

lives of various students of Watson's,
1. chief among them- Elizabeth "Betty" Warren, a rich girl with a conservative, domineering mother who marries Spencer Jones, a lawyer who is unfaithful to her, and who also clashes repeatedly with Watson.

2. Giselle Levy- one of the few Jewish students at Wellesley at the time, who has an affair with Bill Dunbar (Italian teacher), but who is also one of the first students to admire Watson.

3. Constance "Connie" Baker who has insecurities about her body while searching for a boyfriend.

4. Joan Brandwyn who is initially conflicted about whether to pursue law school after graduation or become a housewife to Spencer's best friend, sweet-natured Tommy Donegal

Although many are initially put off by Watson's style, but, later on, more students begin to admire her, including Betty, despite being her most vehement critic. Watson chooses to leave after one year and as she is leaving the campus, her students follow her car, to show their affection.

Watson is a type of teacher who is not easy to give up and has her own beliefs. even though she faced so mane obstacles, however, the determination of being a good teacher lastly ends with a good relationship between her and her students. so, friends, lets be a teacher like this! :)

...akeelah the genius...

just 11-years old but she is so genius when it comes to words! however, lived in a depression live where she lost her father and her mom ignores her and her brother runs with local gangsters! trying her luck in a spelling bee competitions as a chance of avoiding detention of her many absence & wins it! When Akeelah asks Dr. Larabee to coach her, he rejects her for being rude. Instead, she studies on her own for the district spelling bee. During the bee, her sister Kiana catches one of the other contestants cheating, which allows Akeelah to take the tenth and final qualifying spot for the regional/state bee. a 12-year-old Mexican-American boy and fellow speller who has a crush on her, Javier, invites her to join the spelling club at his Woodland Hills middle school. there, she meets Dylan Chiu. Akeelah almost defeats Dylan, but loses by just two points in scrabble game. She later overhears Dylan's father, reprimanding him for nearly losing to "a little black girl" and insisting he must win first place. trying so hard, both of them at last, shared the first place in the competition.

for me, akeelah is so lucky as she is able to join lots of competition of spelling bee. i love spelling bee but i never have courage to enter any competition as i always think that there are more people who can beat me and if they do so, i will feel ashamed!! uh! what a coward person i am! watching this movie made me realize on how stupid i am for letting go of the opportunity of joining this kind of competition. :( i hopre there will still be a chance for me to join any spelling bee competition in the future! amin! :)
